Millimeter Binding: Mohawk Superfine textblock, black Fabriano Ingres endpapers, green goatskin, rolled leather endbands, handmade paste paper.

This style of binding was developed during WWII, when bookbinding leather was hard to come by.  A minimal amount of leather is used on the spine and corners of the book, adding strength to the most vunerable areas.  When shevled, the spine of the book maintaina an elegant appearance.  This style of binding is now often used as an economical alternative to traditional fine binding structures. Click here to see an example of this in my own work.
